"Monsters & Miracles” is a song that speaks to the internal struggles we all face, the battles inside our minds that can feel like endless wars. It’s about confronting the monsters within: the fears, the doubts, the regrets and yet, still holding onto the belief that miracles are possible. The track navigates the dark and light sides of human existence, showing that even in the face of personal demons, there is always room for growth, change, and redemption.

This song is deeply personal, especially for our bass player, Ben Walsh, whose ongoing struggle with Chronic Kidney Disease has been a defining part of both his life and the creation of this album. Ben has faced the relentless physical toll of ill health and we as a band have had our struggles watching someone we deeply care about face these challenges, an experience that can sometimes feel like a constant, uphill battle. "Monsters & Miracles” reflects this internal war, how Ben, like all of us, is fighting not just physical illness but the mental and emotional toll that it brings. It's a reminder that illness isn’t just a fight with the body, but a fight for the mind, for hope, and for the strength to keep moving forward.

The song features a powerful poem by Charles Bukowski, read by Tom Waits. Bukowski’s words speak to the rawness of human existence, the feeling of being crushed, the overwhelming struggle to survive, and the resilience it takes to rise again. For Ben, the poem resonates deeply. He’s lived through moments when the struggle felt too much to bear, but "Monsters & Miracles" is about refusing to let the darkness define us. It’s about facing the monsters that try to take away our strength, and despite it all, still believing in the possibility of a miracle.

Musically, the track captures the tension of this battle. It begins with a dark, heavy atmosphere, representing the weight of the monsters we carry those parts of ourselves that feel too large to overcome. But as the song progresses, it opens up into moments of clarity and light, symbolising the miracles that come when we confront our fears head-on. The track ebbs and flows, reflecting the emotional landscape of someone like Ben, who faces daily physical challenges but continues to push forward, refusing to let his illness define him.
