Sun Printing On Fabric

Описание к видео Sun Printing On Fabric

Created for Cruinniú na nÓg 2021, this online Sun Printing workshop comes to you from Mud Island Community Garden in Dublin City. Play along to see how to use solar power to print beautiful botanical designs on fabric. I demonstrate how you can use the sun to make printed fabrics with leaves or other objects, using cotton fabric and acrylic paint. I’ll also explain the science behind the process where capillary action draws the paint from shaded portions of the fabric into the drier, unshaded portions, leaving lightly coloured botanical shapes on a darker coloured background. I'll also show how you can use the printed fabric for clothes or to make useful items such as drawstring bags, pin cushions etc

The workshop is intended to encourage the participants to spend time in nature and outside, and also uses materials that are easily accessible. Please enjoy playing along!
