Grand Prix Star Arcade

You control your car by steering the wheel from a 3rd person, behind the car perspective.
Two pedals control braking and acceleration and one stick shift to the right of the wheel controls the "Low High" transmission.

You are pitted against 7 other drivers. Race on three different tracks Germany, Japan, or Monaco each with up to 4 laps. During the race, you will be given extra time extensions by passing checkpoints.

The view as you race along is quite low by some racing game comparisons. This makes the action and racing seem more intense as you feel like you are much lower to the game than other games of the time.

However, at some points during the level the view is very limited of the track as the car rests perfectly in your camera view.

Graphics are very good for the time, giving you a wonderful array of full colors and textures as well as neat animations of the car flipping violently if you hit the walls to hard.

A second player can join in the same race as long as the communication link is in place between the two PCBs.
