It might be tempting to think that everyone could be a customer of your business, but in reality, the most successful businesses don’t try to appeal to everyone. Instead, they focus on their key customers—the ones who drive the majority of their sales. And to ensure that all of their marketing efforts really speak to their key customers, they create 'customer personas.'

A customer persona is a detailed description of your ideal customer, including their age, gender, income, attitudes and behaviors. Your business can have a few different customer personas, and you can assign a face and a name to each persona to bring them to life.

Defining customer personas can help ensure your marketing efforts are effective and efficient, reaching the right people, in the right place, with the right message.
