Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Research

Описание к видео Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Research

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is a foundational component of The Leadership Alliance's mission to develop underrepresented students into outstanding leaders and role models in academia, the public, and the private sector. We believe that DEI means building a culture in which people feel they belong and are valued for their unique experiences and abilities, and that diverse voices and experiences in research means a richer, more nuanced, and broader exploration of the topics that we seek to explore
and understand.

In this Wednesday Workshop conversation, The Leadership Alliance VPD brings together three professionals who have spent their career considering issues in DEI and exploring ways to ensure that in research, in higher education, and in conversations being held on and around college campuses there is an appreciation and understanding of the value of
myriad voices, perspectives, and histories to enrich our path going forward.

Panelists: Mahnoor Ahmed, MS, Director for Student Recruitment and Engagement in the Office of Inclusion, Diversity, Anti-Racism, and Equity (IDARE) at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health will moderate this panel. Our panelists are Dr. Tristan L. Glenn, Assistant Vice President of Inclusion, Campus Culture, and Engagement in the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity at Brown University, and Dr. Roshni Rao, Executive Director of Doctoral and Postdoctoral Career Design and the Director of PHutures at Johns Hopkins University.
