The forests in Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park are wonderful areas to explore at any time of the year. Overlooking the beautiful welsh town of Betws-y-Coed, I stayed in the Gwydir Forest for a week of landscape photography during September 2023.

From the cottage, I could venture straight into the heart of the Gwydir Forest. The forest could be mistaken for Middle Earth from the Lord of the Rings films, a truly magical place to explore. I followed the forest trails, looking for woodland photography compositions, along with a quick visit to the majestic Swallow Falls near Betws-y-Coed. It was a relief to have some cooler and cloudier weather after the heat-wave during the first week of September.
