I decided to do a quick video of my home test rig as I know many GIANT Trance E-Bike owners are plagued with reliability problems and this quite inexpensive test rig will help you identify problems very quickly.

It’s worth noting that there are more than one harness options for these bikes so you would need to identify the right one for yours. (I’ve seen 3 and 4 pin connectors on MY19 and MY20 bikes)

The charging port is not included in my rig (yet) as it’s unneeded to power up and operate the bike (tried and tested by riding my bike without one for weeks and testing the resiastance of it pinned out and it literally just connects the frame to the discharge connector pin for pin)

Hope the video is of some value to someone as I know how frustrating they can be when all you want to do is ride with your pals and you can’t after shelling out thousands for the latest bikes.

Some advice.
ALWAYS buy your bikes from a dealer. You will need their support.

Mine came from Buy-a-bike as a spur of the moment purchase in Charnock Richard and they have been absolutely amazing for service and support of two of these bikes since 2019 and about 11 of my pals who also bought E-Bikes from there literally because ago did as they know I won’t put up with crap service.

My local GIANT shop in Blackpool is equally as good and helps me out whenever needed but at the time had no bikes for me and GIANT had a massive lead time.

Remember, the problems we are having are problems with the bikes themselves, not the dealers so they must be more frustrated than us end users as no shop needs boomerang products and angry customers.
