Compare Axis vs. Dahua 2x2MP Security Camera

Yes, it would have been nice to compare the Dahua to an Axis 1080 camera, but the larger point is the value comparison.

A point of emphasis is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Axis, they make a great product. Sean is an Axis Certified Technician and we are currently an Axis Silver partner; we have installed Axis for years! We simply were not aware of the Dahua line and were surprised to learn that Dahau is the 2nd largest manufacturer in the world. It appears that most of their US products are OEM'd by some of the larger security companies. We simply are surprised how the features, warranty and pricing compares to other brands.

It should be clear from this video that the ideal range of most 2.8mm lens camera would be within 20 feet and ideally within 10. At the further distances you will be able to detect and observe, and potentially recognized someone you know but Identification is limited to much closer to the camera. For further distances you would want to look at larger (zoom) lenses, but know that you will have less coverage (width).
