The OFFSET function in Microsoft Excel allows you to reference a range of cells based on a starting point and offsets from that starting point.

The syntax for the OFFSET function is as follows:

=OFFSET(starting cell, rows to offset, columns to offset, [height], [width])

Starting cell: the cell from which you want to start the reference
Rows to offset: the number of rows to move down (use negative numbers to move up)
Columns to offset: the number of columns to move to the right (use negative numbers to move to the left)
Height (optional): the number of rows you want to include in the reference
Width (optional): the number of columns you want to include in the reference
