Day 10
This morning, I rode my Brompton to the ship terminal to catch the ferry to Jeju Island. I had received a receipt that I needed to exchange for a ship ticket. Seeing my helmet, the staff told me to ride my bike from the front of the boat, where cars and buses board. I informed them that I had a folding bike, and only then was I allowed to enter through the passenger entrance.

About Ship:
The ship was enormous—the largest I’ve ever been on. It had 3 to 4 floors with a massive reception area, 7-Eleven shops, massage chairs, a discotheque for both seniors and young people, a gaming area, a food court, a coffee area with a bakery, and more. The ferry ride itself was an incredible experience.
I highly recommend this to fellow cyclists: take the ferry instead of flying. The journey is breathtaking, and you’re free to move around the ship and explore it entirely. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Reached Jeju Island:
Arrived at Jeju Island, I unfolded my bike and started cycling. I reached the island at 2:00 PM and didn’t book any accommodation beforehand because I wasn’t sure how far I would cycle. The cycling routes aren’t exclusively for bikes—you’ll share the road with cars and other vehicles—but they’re safe. I kept checking Naver and Kakao Maps to adjust my path and stay closer to the seashore instead of the main roads. The cycling routes listed on the “Cycle to Korea” website mainly stick to main roads, so I opted for bylanes and coastal roads wherever possible.
Take your time and plan carefully! I made a mistake by accidentally taking a trekking path into the mountains, but that’s a story for another time—and it came with its own rewards. 😊

After cycling approximately 25 km and enjoying all the scenic spots, I reached a hotel near the seashore. The amenities were excellent, so I decided to stay there for the night. I slept like a log. Cycling at Jeju Island with beautiful scenic spots and coffee shops are worth it. Do not just run and finish the Island,

Explore and absorb th place. Stop take a deep breath and relax.

see you on Day 11 in Jeju Island, covering the circumference of the island.
