The Rising Storm starts out slow, then picks up a lot--your mileage may vary whether you think that was too fast-paced or a fun frantic speed. There are loads of characters--some you may connect with, and some you may not--and an absolute smorgasbord of alien species. I’m excited to jump into the middle grade and young adult novels for Phase 1 | Part 2 of the High Republic, though, to try to fill in some of The Rising Storm's gaps.

Side note: Star Wars The High Republic: Showdown at the Fair is a kid-friendly overview of the Great Fair plotline, but it doesn’t come out until October 5, 2021? But on the plus side, it sounds like it features Burryaga the Wookiee Padawan, and also contains two pages of stickers. (Stickers!)
