Did you know that Randy Orton won the US Title without becoming the champion? At Survivor Series 2005, Booker T faced Chris Benoit in a best of 7 series for the vacant US Title. Booker rolled up Benoit and pinned him with the help of the rope to make it 1-0. The second match was on Smackdown. Booker hit Benoit with the Scissors Kick to make it 2-0. The third match was two weeks later. Booker knocked down the ref, Benoit tapped him out but no ref. Then Booker hit Benoit with a chair and with the Scissors Kick to make it 3-0. The fourth match was at Armageddon. Benoit tapped out Booker to make it 3-1. Two weeks later, Booker was injured and Teddy Long wanted to award the title to Benoit. Booker suggested a replacement, Teddy wasn’t feeling it but Benoit agreed and Teddy allowed it. Booker refused Orlando Jordan, he tried to convince Randy and he actually accepted. Benoit caught Randy with the crossface, Sharmell hit him with the crutch and it was 3-2 now. The sixth match was a week later. Orlando attacked Booker, hit Benoit with the Crutch and it was 3-3 now. The last match was next week. The ref got knocked down, Randy tapped out but no ref. Booker attacked Benoit, Randy pinned him and Booker got the title.
