What is meditation? To put it plainly, it is “the act of visualizing something or someone”. It is the ability to “form a vivid picture in our mind”. It is almost like looking through a particular lens; and this lens is our unconscious, our imagination, our deepest desires.
Visualization amplifies our ability to build clear images in our minds. It is not a gift, but a skill we all need to cultivate, to evolve through practice in our everyday life, through repetition, and by being persistent.
In this meditation gathering, we are going to use the ancient technique of visualization for making true the essence of Marcus Aurelius' words. And to make it even easier, we will use the most important tool the ancients had, music, and an instrument that is even more ancient than the Stoics themselves, the Greek lyre.
So, let's start exploring our thoughts and try to understand this complex yet wonderful tool we are blessed to have. Our mind.
