When you’re focused on your creative practice or working with others towards a similar vision, it's easy to lose track of the importance of making agreements or contracts to ensure everyone is on the same page. In this introduction to artists contracts, we will hear from Gregory Pang, a lawyer with a speciality in entertainment law. He will share details on what constitutes a legal binding contract, tips to negotiate contract terms, and how to manage legalese to ensure all the bases are covered.

Guest speaker:
Gregory is an Alberta-based lawyer who has been practicing since 2009 in the niche area of entertainment law. He was also a sessional instructor at MacEwan University. Before his law career, Gregory worked in film and television for five years in various roles from being a location PA to a business coordinator in marketing/distribution. While Gregory takes his clients' matters seriously, he believes in having fun with the law and has thus written guest blog posts and podcast appearances with The Legal Geeks and has run panels and a mock trial at the Calgary and Edmonton Comic Expos. Gregory also co-hosted the Legal Cut Pro entertainment law podcast.
