This video will show you how to clean and/or fix a (suspected) broken pump for a Cat Mate 2 Litre Fountain, Cat Mate 3 Litre Shell Fountain or the 6 litre Dog Mate Fountain.

I made this funny cat video having already spent £10.95 on a "Replacement Pump for Cat Mate and Dog Mate Pet Fountains" six months ago that actually just needed cleaning. If I'd only ready the Cat Mate instructions first!

Obviously the filter does prevent a lot of build up around the pump but I suspect some cat or dog hair will get through and also the fluff from the filter!

It's worth when you take the blue impeller out using a cotton bud dipped in a bit of vinegar wipe around the inside of the chamber to help get rid of any limescale build up inside.

If your Cat Mate or Dog Mate pump stops working then try this fix first before forking out for a new one.
