The LOOKUP function searches for a value in a table array and returns a value from the same position in a specified row or column.

The formula =LOOKUP(G5, B6:D12, C6:C12) is explained, with G5 being the value to search for in the first column of the table array (B6:D12) and C6:C12 being the result vector where the function will return a value from the same position in the table array, but from the corresponding row in the C column.

The LOOKUP function works based on approximate match, finding the nearest value that is less than or equal to the lookup value in the table array.
