Welcome to Mosaic Monday!
In this tutorial I will teach you how to crochet this eye catching Mosaic design IN THE ROUND!

You DO NOT need the chart to do this tutorial, every row is shown in the tutorial. However, your purchase does help support my channel and is very appreciated! The chart is available for those who wish to purchase it instead of following the tutorial here on YouTube. The file contains both the single repeat taught here in this video and the additional repeats for those who want to continue for multiple repeats of the pattern. NOTE: Ravelry no longer accepts chart only uploads so unfortunately I can only utilize my Etsy shop at this time.

Mosaic crochet is great for all skill levels and can be used to create many different things such as blankets, pillows, purses/bags, totes and garments. The result will be an eye catching, geometric design that is unisex and versatile.

Suggested starting chains for various projects WORKING IN THE ROUND :

Cup Coozie: 36 chains

Tote or Throw Pillow: 81 to 99 chains depending on total desired size of tote/pillow

Change purse, Makeup or Notions bag: 36 chains for a small notions bag or change purse OR 63 chains for a makeup bag or large Notions bag.

Cowl: 72 TO 90 chains depending on yarn size used and desired width. I recommend size 3 light weight yarn or smaller for garments.

Infinity Scarf: 162 to 180 chains

You can create any project you like from Mosaic Crochet, these are just a few suggestions!

HOOK SIZE: I am using a 4.5 mm hook in this tutorial. I recommend using the below hook sizes depending on yarn used:
3 DK yarn : 3mm to 4mm
Size 4 Medium/worsted weight: 4mm to 4.5mm.
Mixing 3 & 4 weight: 3.5mm to 4mm

THE YARN: Joanns Big Twist Extra Value in Light Green and Grey in this tutorial. You can use ANY yarn to work in the round.

Note on mixing yarn sizes 3 (DK) & Size 4 (Medium Worsted weight): THE TRICK TO MIXING YARN SIZES IS JUST KEEPING YOUR TENSION EVEN AND USING THE SMALLEST SIZE HOOK RECOMMENDED FOR THE SMALLER YARN! You can use any yarn size you like and can use yarn that is all the same size, you do not have to mix yarn sizes.

To begin your project you will chain in multiples of 9. You will NOT skip the first chain that you slip stitch in to join the chain and form the ring. You will begin working in the chain you slip stitch into on EVERY round. EXAMPLE: I chained 36 and had 36 stitches at the end of round 1.

Stitches used in this project: Back Loop Single Crochet and Front Loop Double Crochet (drop down double crochet as I like to call it).
