From 1997-2012, the Cathedral of the King presented the Christmas portion of Handel's MESSIAH on the first week of Advent to welcome the new liturgical year. In 1998, Rutter's MAGNIFICAT was included in the program. The concert was held at the former Philamlife Auditorium in United Nations Avenue, Ermita, Manila.
