A very sad day for Orange County Virginia...

After citizens respond and come to participate in the mural discussion, as invited above (from artscenterinorange.com) for community contributions to NEA grant artwork ideas, smug and snide bureaucrats "call authorities" to remove a member of the community. Not that she commited any actual crime, but because she raised a point of view and possibly a point of order that disagrees with graffiti painting from an urban artist over pre-existing historic local art. The majority of folks I've spoken to are very much opposed to the direction and methods of those spending our federal tax dollars for art that is out of sync and unrelated to the community of this small but incredibly historic town. The original mural artist has expressed that his image be maintained and supported.
The current mural depicts a serene and historic scene in the spirit of turn of the century Orange.
Taylor Park was created in 1974 and dedicated to the great-grandparents of two U.S. Presidents, President Zachary Taylor and President James Madison, both cousins and Orange County natives.
