Ingredients :
First, soak two cups of black chickpeas overnight [00:43].
In a grinder jar, combine the soaked chickpeas with ginger, garlic, green chilies, cumin, salt, turmeric, and 1/4 cup of water [01:04]. Blend it into a coarse paste [01:29].
Grease a plate with oil and spread the chickpea paste, saving a small amount in the grinder [01:32]. Set it aside.
Next, add two chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, and garlic to the leftover chickpea paste in the grinder [01:58]. Grind it coarsely [02:09].
Heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan and add whole spices like a bay leaf, cinnamon stick, black cardamom, cloves, cumin seeds, and carom seeds [02:15].
Add the onion and chickpea paste mixture to the pan and cook until it turns golden brown [02:51].
Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt to the pan [03:19]. Mix well.
Add two chopped tomatoes and 1/2 a cup of water [03:35]. Mix and cook until the oil separates [03:47].
Place a small bowl in the center of the pan with the curry and add water to it [04:14].
Place the plate with the chickpea patty over the bowl and cover the pan [04:24]. Steam for 7-8 minutes on low flame [04:48].
Once steamed, take the chickpea patty out and add the water from the bowl to the curry [05:01]. Add more water and mix [05:15].
Heat a pan with ghee and roast the chickpea patty on both sides until golden [05:39].
Cut the patty into square pieces [06:17].
Add the pieces to the simmering curry, along with kitchen king masala and chopped coriander leaves [06:44].
Cover and simmer for 3-4 minutes [06:57].
