Arab-Israel Conflict Part 1: A Secular History (Urdu)

This series examines the main historical events in the Arab-Israel conflict and explains how the conflict is rooted in political, social, and economic factors. As opposed to the religious reading of history we are offered in certain quarters, this series offers a secular reading of history.

In this episode, Dr. Taimur Rahman examines the so-called Protocols of the Elders of Zion. This document is, in fact, a plagiarised forgery that has been used throughout the 20th century for various nefarious and anti-semitic purposes. The conspiracy theory view it offers leads a very simplistic, one-sided, and sometimes utterly absurd view of history. Such views have to be rejected in the interest of a scholarly, objective, and nuanced view of the Arab-Israel conflict.
