Deciphering the physiological role of extracellular vesicles in breast milk by Marca Wauben

WebEVTalk 091 Marca Wauben (Professor Intercellular Communication, Department of Biomolecular Health Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University, The Netherlands) discusses the role of intercellular communication mediated by milk-derived extracellular vesicles including the implications on the immune system. The lab uses multi-omics approaches and employs high-resolution flow cytometry-based methods for EV characterization to identify immune-regulatory vesicles in body fluids, e.g. in breast milk, blood and synovial fluid, and try to reveal their origin, their cargo and (patho)physiological roles.
