Dr Brain Bigger Explains Mouse Model for MPS I (Hurler Disease)

Описание к видео Dr Brain Bigger Explains Mouse Model for MPS I (Hurler Disease)

Brian Bigger, PhD, leads the Stem Cell & Neurotherapies laboratory at the University of Manchester in Manchester U.K. The lab uses a multidisciplinary approach to investigate stem cell and gene therapies for neurological diseases, including Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) diseases such as MPS I (Hurler) and MPS IIIa (Sanfilippo). In this exclusive interview with Rare Disease Report, Dr. Bigger described the variances in MPS I and how this lab has used a mouse model of MPS I to hypothesize why some MPS I patients do not always engraft successfully after bone marrow transplant.
Dr. Bigger presented data from this mouse model study at the LDN World Symposium in an oral presentation titled."Heparan Sulphate Inhibits CXCL12-mediated Hematopoietic Cell Migration and Engraftment in Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I Mice".
