Setting New Year’s resolution is easy, but sticking to it is the real battle. With my Home Gym fully functional for 2026, I’m launching the Daily 45 Challenge to finally make full use of my basement gym while keeping my running goals on track.

I want this to be an interactive journey, so I need your help! Watch the video to see the full breakdown, find the loopholes, and let me know how I can improve these rules as the year goes on.

🏆 The Daily 45 Challenge: The 5 Rules
If you want to join me, here is the simplified rule set you can copy and use for your own 2026 goals:
1. The Daily Standard: Complete at least 45 minutes of physical activity every single day.
2. Intensity Matters: Workouts must be at least Zone 2 intensity or higher (breaking a light sweat). No "fake" workouts!
3. Strict Accountability: If you miss a day, that 45 minutes doesn't disappear—it gets added to a future day's total.
4. Flexibility Credits: Any time worked over the 45-minute baseline is "banked" and can be used to earn future rest days.
5. Built-in Resilience: You get 26 days per year (one every other week) for low-impact recovery like yoga, mobility, or a neighborhood walk.

The "Loophole" Fixes
Active Work Only: Warm-ups, stretching, and cool-downs do not count toward your 45 minutes.
Makeup Cap: To prevent injury, you can only make up a maximum of 90 total minutes per day.
Use It or Lose It: Banked "extra" time (from long runs or races) must be used within 7 days or it expires.
