What is the Real Cost of a 2 Week Cruise?

We are a traveling family of six. We took a two week cruise on Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Seas. This video breaks down the cost of the cruise for us. I forgot to mention we did get an onboard credit of $100 when booking the cruise. We used this to help purchase an all-you-can-drink soda pass which was $141 for 14 days. In effect, we paid $41 for the soda pass. Also, we provided extra gratuity for our servers and room steward. This isn't an expectation, however, since they provided such great service on our cruise, we wanted to show some appreciation. In total, we spent an extra $200 on gratuities (I have no idea if this is an appropriate amount or not). The last onboard expense we had was a small bag of laundry which cost $35. It consisted of 26 pairs of socks, 22 underwear and 6 shirts. Considering we only packed one weeks worth of clothing and underwear, I'm not sure who didn't change their undies. :) Additional laundry was hand washed.

Other things to consider when booking a cruise are the cruise line, rating of the ship, destination, time of year, ports of call, etc. All of these can affect your rate. Your cruise expenses can also vary wildly depending on whether or not you pay for such things as shore excursions, spa treatments, alcohol packages, specialty dining restaurants, etc.
