This was my first-time finding fish fossils and fossil fish hunting in Wyoming and, as a fossil hunter, I cannot wait to come back.

Green river fossil fish are approximately 52 million years old and are discovered by splitting laminated limestone. Some of the fossil fish found were completely covered in limestone and after we got back to Florida, Joe from @ancient_artworks, did some incredible fossil fish preparation which you can see in two different time lapses near the end of the video. The two fish fossils he prepared were originally x-rayed at the American Fossil Quarry across the hill graciously by “Doc”.

Wyoming fossil fish are fascinating pieces of natural history and working in these green river fossil quarries was such and incredible experience.

We plan on hunting for a diversity of fossils all throughout the US this year with other hunters such as Paleocris, Wildkyle, Everdayimshoveling, Ancient Artworks, Sharkteethandfossils and Bonevalleycollections. We hope to find beautiful Megalodon teeth, gems and minerals, great white shark teeth, and megafauna creatures like mammoths and mastodons. We will also include videos on how to fossil hunt in Florida and explore discussions on some of our favorite topics in paleontology, archeology, and geology!
