There are two main approaches to creating plazas in Planet Coaster, depending on the desired shape and level of detail:
Basic Plaza with Paths:
Grid Mode: This is the easiest method for creating a simple square or rectangular plaza.
Select the path tool you want to use for your plaza.
While holding down the button to build your path, press the key (Y on console, Triangle on Playstation) to open the radial menu.
Choose "Select Grid" from the menu. This will enable a grid overlay on the ground.
Click on the grid squares to build your desired plaza shape.
Adjusting Edges (Optional): You can create a smoother plaza by utilizing a path corner trick:
Build your plaza with the desired number of grid squares.
At a corner where you want a smoother curve, position your cursor exactly on the corner of two path segments.
With the path tool still active, hold down the key mentioned earlier (Y/Triangle) and select "Flatten Terrain" from the menu. This will slightly smooth out the corner for a more natural look.
