Описание к видео What the Uterus Actually Looks Like?!

What the Uterus Actually Looks Like?!. Source- Eve by Cat Bohannon In standard anatomical diagrams, the uterus is typically depicted as an upright, pear-shaped organ with ample space surrounding it, almost as if it is floating in the center of the pelvis. In reality, the uterus is significantly more compressed and integrated into the surrounding anatomy than these sterilized illustrations suggest. It is a highly muscular, collapsible organ that is rarely "inflated" in appearance unless a pregnancy is underway. Within the pelvic cavity, it is squeezed between the bladder in the front and the rectum in the back, often folded over itself in a position known as anteflexion. This proximity means that its shape is constantly influenced by the fullness of the organs around it; a full bladder, for instance, will physically push the uterus upward and backward. Furthermore, the space inside the uterus is not a hollow, open cavern as often visualized, but rather a potential space where the front and back walls are virtually touching. The entire organ is draped in a layer of peritoneum and held in place by a complex web of ligaments and connective tissue that tethers it closely to the pelvic floor. Rather than standing prominently on its own, the uterus exists in a crowded environment where it is nestled deep within the pelvic bowl, often appearing flattened or tilted depending on an individual's unique anatomy. This compact arrangement is what allows the organ to expand so dramatically during pregnancy, as it pushes outward into the abdominal cavity once it can no longer be contained within its squashed pelvic home. #women #anatomy #interesting
