I know every creature on this planet has a place in our ecosystem, but you have to admit that life outdoors would be so much more pleasant without flies, mosquitoes, and ticks!

The warmer weather is finally upon us and we had our first tick encounter of the season. First the dogs, and then me. The immediate area around our home is currently being foraged constantly by our free range chickens and two guinea fowls so we haven't had any issues with ticks there, but our pasture where the dogs and the cows roam rarely get visited by the tick loving fowl so my plan is to introduce these guineas to the pasture and hope they learn to call it home also. These 8 new guinea fowl along with our 30+ chickens and two guineas should mean they will all cover a broader area of our property now (hopefully!).
