Coral Pink Goatskin NIV Thinline Premier Collection

Once again Zondervan has decided to press the boundaries, and I love it. The NIV Thinline Bible is now available with a coral (sort of a fuchsia) goatskin cover and a floral pattern gilding. It has raised hubs on the spine with the floral pattern also gold stamped between the hubs. I was really happy to see three ribbons (gold, coral, navy) on such a small bible (9x5.75 cover 8.5 by 5.5 block, 1 inch thick).

One thing about the regular thinlines (non large print) is the font is listed as a nine, but it looks a bit small. This is the same with the NASB and NKJV thinlines from both Zondervan and Thomas Nelson. The Comfort Print does make a big difference here, but this is definitely quite a step down from a large print. It is also still baffling that we don’t have an NIV that is perfectly line matched. It’s close, in fact some pages appear to be, but now and then it’s off. The 36gsm paper makes up for this, but it’s still strange it has never been addressed.

Overall, it’s a great edition but it will definitely only appeal to women that enjoy a more feminine bible, which is not all women in the premium market. I can’t see any men liking this one unless it’s simply because they collect the Premier Collection. With all that said, be looking for your Nickels Worth soon!
