🇦🇱 Boat trip to Ali Pasha Tepelena | Albania Castle

Right at the entrance to Butrint National Park, boats take you to an old fortress. This fortress is located on a small island on the Vivar Channel, which connects Lake Butrint with the Ionian Sea. It can only be reached by boat. The rectangular facility is approximately 22 by 30 meters in size. In each corner there are towers that were equipped with cannons - the western towers are round, the ones facing inland are square. The main entrance was on the north side directly on the canal, a battlement ran along the other three walls.

🇩🇪 Direkt am Eingang zum Nationalpark Butrint bringen Dich Boote zu einer alten Festung. Diese Festung liegt auf einer kleinen Insel an der Mündung des Vivar-Kanals, der den Butrintsee mit dem Ionischen Meer verbindet. Sie ist nur mit dem Boot erreichbar. Butrint liegt rund zweieinhalb Kilometer weiter östlich am Beginn des Kanals. Die rechteckige Anlage ist etwa 22 auf 30 Meter groß. In den Ecken befinden sich jeweils Türme, die mit Kanonen bestückt waren – die westlichen Türme sind rund, die landeinwärts gerichteten viereckig. Der Hauptzugang war auf der Nordseite unmittelbar am Kanal, ein Wehrgang verlief entlang den anderen drei Mauern.
