Crafting a Micro-Tinder Pouch at the Park - Part I

Описание к видео Crafting a Micro-Tinder Pouch at the Park - Part I

Video of me crafting a Micro-Tinder Pouch or Bag at the Park. Using my pocketknife, I cut a circle out of scrap leather and then used an Awl to punch holes around the circumference of the leather. I then wove paracord through the holes which acts to cinch it closed and retain a small amount of tinder. The pouch can be opened and spread flat like a plate, to keep tinder off the ground so it does not absorb any moisture. The leather is fire resistant and a good thermal insulator, so you can lift it and dump your flaming tinder nest under your small kindling to start your fire. Easily made and fun too. The Awl is an "Appalachian Punch or Pick" as taught by Dan Wowak, Coalcracker Bushcraft. His video instructional on building the Awl is well worth watching and can be found here:    • Appalachian Pick and Punch: You need ...
