They’re used by customs to monitor and track shipments coming into and out of the EU.

On your country’s customs website. It usually takes around three days for this number to be issued, so make sure you apply well in advance of shipping.

► When do I need an EORI number?
To trade internationally, a business or individual needs to have an EORI number. If your business operates in multiple EU countries, you’ll need to have this number for each country. And if you’re shipping to the EU, make sure you have the EORI number for the destination country.
