Well the TV people tried to dull the edge of our satire by discreetly censoring our performance but here it is! Combined footage from the limited television coverage and the wonderful people at Expressway Productions who just happened to be making a documentary called MUMMER (coming soon). They graciously provided us with most of this footage shot with state of the art cameras.

This version even has the full soundtrack composed by Craig Hendrix. The choreographer goes by the name of Jarmel Reitz. Stephanie Brown had the dutiful honor of being our Treasurer and Head Marshall. Set Coordination and Design Team: Gregory Charnock, Derrick McNew, and Zach Stock. Brendan Garvey's House was our clubhouse, god bless him. I was the Captain again.

RABBLE ROUSERS NYB 2015 SCRIPT

0:00 - The COMCASTLE – a glass fortress with a tower in the middle of two walls – stands in the background as the INTERNET VILLAGE begins to form.

0:05 - The SPIRITS OF THE INTERNET dance briefly with THE INTERNET BAND, designating the space for the village to be born.

0:10 - The Spirits split apart as the VILLAGERS raise the CENTER OF THE INTERNET – a tangled conversion of many threads from many levels, the final level being a cloud that floats above. As the Internet rises, all the threads of the internet are pulled taught. As the threads extend, the circle begins to rotate. The gleeful spectacle weaves up and down as the Spirits meander around the edges.

0:30 - The COMCASTS enter stage left with a LARGE PLUG and A WIRE that extends to the ComCastle. The Spirits take notice of their approach.

0:40 - The ComCats gather around ABSOLUTE POWER OUTLET [Text:”WARNING: WILL CORRUPT ABSOLUTELY”]. The Spirits point at them, trying to warn the Villagers.

0:42 - 1) The ComCats plug-in the plug. 2) The Spirits disappear. 3) The head of the LONGCAT comes popping out of the top of the tower, also revealing its arms by raising them straight out in front of the tower. 4) The Villagers retract in horror, dropping their attachement to the Internet. 5) The FORTRESS divides and moves forward around the Village.

1:00 - FREEZE. The LongCat joyfully grasps the Center of the Internet between its massive paws: All movement stops; a “LOADING SYMBOL” UMBRELLA spins centerstage.

1:05 - UNFREEZE. As if under a spell, the villagers now shuffle into order with heads buried in their handheld devices handed out by the ComCats, creating a perfect grid as the ComCats command and harass the disempowered villagers. Once in place, the villagers drop slowly to their knees and curl over, in stasis.

1:10 - The ComCats begin their boastful and inappropriate dance.

1:25 - A single EYEBALL opens centerstage, triggering a wave of opening eyeballs across the stage. As each umbrella opens the Villagers stand up with the umbrellas covering their faces, but look directly towards the ComCats.

1:30 - The ComCats are huddled together together downstage, center-left. The EyeBalls gather around them like a panoramic eyeball movie screen.

1:45 - The ComCats are forced back to the Outlet, where they tug at the Plug until it finally comes popping out, freeing the Internet Spirits and sparking out and out partying. The LongCat dies and the walls of the Castle recede.

2:00 - At least 1 mummer must be exited stage left as the sets are in motion and all mummers headed towards the exit.
