This Stone House in Rajasthan Cools Down Temperature with Courtyard Design (House Tour).

Set in the countryside of Bhilwara, Rajasthan, Ananda-Poetry in Stone is a family home, built using a medley of natural and reclaimed materials. Surrounded, by a scenic natural landscape, vast farmlands and an abundance of stone this abode uses stone as a principal material, to blend with the region’s context. The use of stone cuts down the cost of material transportation resulting in zero carbon footprint.

These initiatives and design elements are a collective effort to curtail the carbon footprint resulting in a sustainable and contemporary dwelling. Sourcing decorative elements from nearby regions and even re-purposing antiques furthered the agenda of sustainability.

Tending to the harsh summers of Rajasthan, the architect has incorporated passive cooling features, to enhance the user's comfort and maintain a comfortable living condition throughout the year. With ingenious airy interiors and an elusive touch of heritage and sustainability, this house mirrors the ambience of Rajasthan’s traditional havelis.
