Every human being has some character flaws. Character flaws are often interpreted as lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego etc. but when seen closely, the reason for all these is mainly dualism.
Dvaita means seeing everyone separately and Advaita means seeing everyone as one. As long as we live in duality, the conflicts like I, mine, you, yours, honor-respect, happiness-sorrow, profit-loss etc. keep troubling us. It is this feeling of duality that gives bondage. For liberation, it is necessary to have a feeling of non-duality.
प्रत्येक मनुष्य में कुछ ना कुछ चारित्रिक दोष अवश्य होते हैं । चारित्रिक दोषों का अर्थ प्राय काम, क्रोध, लोभ, मोह, अहंकार आदि से लगाया जाता है परंतु सूक्ष्म रूप से देखने पर सभी का कारण मुख्य रूप से द्वैत भाव है ।द्वैत का अर्थ है सबको अलग-अलग देखना और अद्वैत का अर्थ है सबको एक देखना । जब तक हम द्वैत भाव में रहते हैं, तब तक हमें मैं, मेरा तू, तेरा, मान-सम्मान, सुख-दुःख, लाभ-हानि आदि द्वन्द परेशान करते रहते हैं। यह द्वैत भाव ही बंधन देता है, मुक्ति के लिए अद्वैत भाव आना ज़रूरी है।
