Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates to police officers and personnel from Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Upper Dir, and Swat during a ceremony held at the Central Police Office Peshawar today. The officers were recognized for their outstanding performance in operations against terrorists, target killers, and murder and attempted murder cases, as well as for their exceptional service during the recent floods.

According to details, Peshawar Police conducted an intelligence-based operation and successfully neutralized a most wanted criminal and his accomplices, demonstrating exceptional bravery and professionalism. Kohat Police destroyed several terrorist hideouts and arrested multiple facilitators during search and strike operations to maintain peace and security. Hangu Police swiftly responded to a terrorist attack on an FC post in Tora Warai, killing one terrorist and injuring several others after hours of engagement, later recovering arms, grenades, and explosives.

In Swat, police protected valuable government property during recent floods by relocating weapons and equipment from the basement of Mingora Police Station in time. Upper Dir Police, working in collaboration with local residents, carried out several successful operations against terrorists, eliminating multiple threats.

Addressing the ceremony, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed said that such events are commendable as they honor officers and personnel who display courage and dedication. He praised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for performing their duties with bravery, commitment, and professionalism, restoring public confidence and earning respect for both the department and their families.

The IGP paid special tribute to the people and police of Upper Dir for their joint efforts against terrorism, stating that lasting peace can only be achieved through cooperation between the police and the public. He reiterated that the process of reward and accountability will continue in the police department and noted that good performance not only enhances the department’s reputation but also brings pride to officers’ families and communities.

He further said that it is encouraging to see Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police continuously improving and strengthening its reputation through consistent performance. The IGP urged the award recipients to continue their hard work and commitment to eradicating terrorism from the province and meeting public expectations.

Additional IGPs including Muhammad Ali Babakhel (Operations), Alam Shinwari (Investigation), Ahsan Abbas (Headquarters), Akhtar Abbas (Internal Accountability), Principal Staff Officer to IGP Imran Khan, and Director Public Relations Shehzada Kokab Farooq were also present at the ceremony.
