The second cruiser erupts in fire.

The fleet scatters.
Railguns flash, shells tear through space.
The ship takes the hits, armor cracking.
It does not slow.

The cannon hums again.
A shot rips forward.

The battle is over.

A slow inhale.
Smoke drifts through the dim light.

The Void Singer turns, disappearing into the black.
