I am putting together the first aid kits that go in my '72 hour kits'. (IFAK is the current buzzword for Individual First Aid Kit)

I wanted these to be fully functional but weight and space matters when it is going in a back pack.

This is what I do for a living, teach and work in emergency response. I have done 911 response, disaster response, first responder for private companies and special events and much more.

I tried to consider life saving things that are needed. I also kept in mind that the most common reason someone grabs a first aid kit is because they need a bandage.

I spent a lot of time thinking about this kit, taking things off the list or adding them on, then doing it again. There are a lot of other things that could go in a kit. I also have a full first responder bag that has everything from oxygen to an OB kit.

My kit also contains little packets if Benadryl. I didn't show them in the video, but they were in the little plastic box. Benadryl is a must have. During a severe allergic reaction, and without prescription medication such as epinephrine, this is your best option.
