BHIMPALASI by Kaushiki, accompanied by Subhajyoti Guha on tabla and Kedar Naphade on harmonium, private concert recorded by Avinash Patwardhan, 11/08/2014 This recording though of an amateur nature captures the inherent beauty of a raag that is exposed in the most beautiful traditional style of Indian Classical Music. One cannot make this happen every time. It only happens when the artist is at peace and fully engaged with her art and audience. It is a rare occurrence. The music came from her heart with no preconditions. She sang for four hours without any hesitation. Ragas that she sang that afternoon were Bhimpalasi, Thumri in Mishra Maand; Kalavati; Marathi BHAJAN, Bengalii Poem that she dedicated to her father, and Bhairavi Bhajan. I have up loaded all these. Here we have Kaushiki at her unadulterated best the day before this she sang with equal abandon A fabulous performance in Jog; A superb Bageshri, Thumri in Mishra Pahadi, A bandish in Pilu this too for close to 4 hours.
