On November 27, protests broke out across Northeast India, particularly in Tripura and Silchar, in response to the controversial arrest of Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu in Bangladesh. Prominent leaders like Gaurav Gogoi voiced strong opposition to the arrest, citing concerns over rising atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Protestors, especially in Tripura, which shares an 856 km border with Bangladesh, demanded the immediate release of Chinmoy Krishna Das and greater protection for the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
