Eric Cyr is the songwriter and singer at the helm of Cyr and the Cosmonauts. The group has been performing in the Twin Ports since the release of their first album, Callused, recorded at Sacred Heart Music Center in 2018. In 2021 the band released their sophomore record, Songs to Sing Before We're Dead, which, in the words of Mark Nicklawske's review, "rumbles and clatters like a souped-up hearse with Hank Williams behind the wheel." Eric is an award-winning songwriter, the self-proclaimed creator of "eclectic Americana" as a genre, and in 2024 is launching Fish and Whistle, the Twins Ports' John Prine tribute band.
