All right, today I wanted to take another look at the igpu in the ryzen 7700x. I know these are not designed for gaming but they were definitely rough when the ryzen 7000s launched. Since then the Asrock motherboard I’m using, the x670e PG lightning has seen many bios updates including higher power allowance for the igpu and gpu overclocking as well as just ddr5 and xpo improvements. I ran the igpu through timespy stock and overclocked and I checked out the 720p desktop and 1080p desktop benchmark for final fantasy fourteen. The overclock really helped out it seems. PBO and 5600 cl36 along with 4gig frame buffer and raising the igpu’s core clock from 2200mhz to 2400mhz gained us about 100 points on average in timespy so, about 800 combined to around 900 points combined. As for the Final Fantasy 14 benchmarks, at desktop quality they were still a little rough. I would say it's playable if you really want to game but you’re really limited to 720p in my opinion. Some scenes were getting into the low to mid 30 fps range but the drops were rough down into the low teens. If you have to play with the iGPU built into the ryen 7000 desktop CPUs, you definitely are going to want to make sure you have the latest bios available, you’ll want to configure your memory’s expo mode, make sure you dont forget to increase the fram buffer for the igpu to at least 2 or 4gb. In my case I was able to overclock the igpu core speed without adjusting voltage at all which was nice. E sports titles like League or CSGO will run fine at 720p, maybe even 900p or 1080p at the lowest settings. If you have FSR available and you dont mind the picture quality issues that it has at lower resolutions generally speaking, that will definitely help bring up the framerate too.
