Here’s a quick and easy demonstration on how to fix a leaky Owala water bottle. There are only two main reasons these bottles leak—a loose lid or damaged/missing rubber gaskets.
First, try tightening the lid. If the leak continues, the issue is likely with the rubber gaskets, which can crack, wear out, or go missing over time. The good news? They’re cheap and easy to replace!
● On the top of the lid, locate the rubber stopper as shown in this video. Remove and inspect it. If it’s cracked, damaged, or missing—replace it.

● Now flip the lid over. Inside the bottom of the lid, there’s a rubber ring gasket that seals the container. Use a butter knife to remove it and check for damage.

If either gasket is worn or missing, swap it out and your Owala bottle should be leak-free. These simple fixes can save your bottle and keep your bag dry!
