We recorded "Come and Find Rest" in honor of Jan King on June 22, 2023, at Black Mountain Baptist Church in Cave Creek, AZ. The song with a special message from Jeff was shared with the family for Jan's memorial service on June 17, 2023.

"Come and Find Rest" was originally written by Vanessa Crabtree in 2012. Well....it might be more accurate to say Vanessa Hoogeboom, as Jeff and Vanessa didn't know each other then. Vanessa was living with a wonderful family who had a passion for gardening at the time. She penned most of these lyrics while thinking about the miracle of life as she worked in the garden. How from a seed springs forth a new plant, new life. And in the eyes of the gardener, the work is easy; you plant the seeds and watch them grow up. God does the miracle of death and calls forth new life from the ground.

The song remained unfinished and unperformed/recorded until the passing of Jeff's grandmother Elwauna Hicks Hudson on December 10, 2023, when Vanessa was given the inspiration to rewrite the fourth verse and final bridge. Elwauna was a devout Pentecostal woman who would get tickled frequently during service and shout out, "Glory Be." And one can only praise God for her life, salvation, and the legacy she left by planting seeds in the life of everyone who was around her.

We are thankful and blessed for this opportunity to record again. This is the first recording we have made since Vanessa's accident.
