If you have been around our channel for any amount of time, or even seen our shirts you will recognize this 2002 Lexus IS300 as the @Boosted_Lexi we built a few years back. Well with racing and car show season quickly approaching we took this chance to get the car back over onto the dyno at CIA Performance to see exactly how it's running.

Between its last dyno runs and the current ones you'll see in this video the engine was dropped out of the car to replace a destroyed turbo gasket and wiring that was damaged when that turbo gasket failed. What we didn't know at the time was there may have been a small boost leak even when it was assembled, so when we reassembled the car with everything buttoned up tight the car was actually OVER boosting and hitting fuel cut. Since we had the Indy Airstrip attack to get to we had Eric drop by the shop and make a small adjustment to the tune, bringing our boost back to within range.

All seemed well until this past few months when the car just seemed to be down on power compared to how it usually felt. Nothing was immediately obvious, and unfortunately testing these kinds of things on public roads will get you a street racing charge, we did the next best thing and took it to the dyno. As you'll see in the video, it actually WAS down on power and the reason for this was NOT what we expected.

As for the build, since most people ask we'll give you a short primer. The motor in this car is the original 2JZ-GE block and head, internals have been replaced with forged pieces to take the extra abuse of the turbo. Compression was also lowered to be able to handle the extra boost we would be throwing at it. As for the turbo and manifold, those were from Driftmotion, pushing hair through a CXRacing IS300 intercooler (air to air) that tucks nicely behind the bumper. Fuel is controlled by an Aeromotive boost referencing pressure regulator and all the electronics in the engine bay are under the control of an AEM V2 ECU with a custom wiring harness. The intake/throttle body are the stock original unmodified units. There you go, the simple version of what it takes to make a 2JZ-GET or 2JZ-GE-T however you want to say it!

We have to say, of all the thing we have built over the years THIS is easily one of the best. The 2JZ sound is glorious, paired with the extra wooooshy sounds of a 2JZ turbo mmmm it sounds good!
