Описание к видео How to Talk to Depressed People (Avoid These Mistakes)

In this video, we discuss how asking specific questions about a person's day can create a more positive experience for someone who is depressed. We emphasize finding structure and routine, and how discussing practical steps can help the person get outside of themselves. The video encourages avoiding asking how the person feels, and instead focusing on what they have been doing or plan to do that day.

Please consult a healthcare professional for all mental and physical healthcare needs. I, Noah Thomas, the creator of this channel, have been diagnosed with hypogonadism by a medical doctor and prescribed Testosterone Replacement Therapy. My name is Noah, and on May 18, 2011, I had a rare reaction to a medication called VIVITROL, leading to a suicidal depression with depersonalization and anxiety. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in panic for 8 weeks mixed with the darkest depression imaginable. I could not work and had to move in with my parents, who watched me 24/7. Eventually, I was hospitalized in the Psych Ward for a week. Each day seemed unbearable, and I felt I would surely die. I tried many doctor-prescribed medications, but saw little improvement for a year. It was determined I had treatment-resistant depression. After starting new medications (Seroquel & Nortriptyline), I discovered my testosterone levels were very low. This explained my lack of improvement and illness. The symptoms of Low T are similar to major depression. I started testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have documented my treatment journey while sharing insights on mental health. I am slowly improving and becoming more stable, which I never thought possible. My low T manifested as major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization for over a year. Treating my low testosterone has been a huge part of my recovery, but I continue to work hard to maintain my mental stability. Gaining mental stability is a miracle as I was near death for a long time. I do not consider myself healed yet but am closer than ever and aim to support others in need. I successfully came off Seroquel and Pamelor. I work out regularly as part of my mental health recovery! Weight training and cardio occupy much of my free time, which I also share on my channel.
