PRESS RELEASE
 THE TEAM OF AHTU, CRIME BRANCH (IS0-9001:2015 CERTIFIED) HAVE ARRESTED ONE INTERIM BAIL JUMPER & PROCLAIMED OFFENDER, WANTED IN A GRUSOME MURDER CASE OF P.S KANJHAWALA FROM THE AREA OF PANIPAT (HARYANA).
 ACCUSED IS THE MAIN ACCUSED IN THE CASE AND EVADING PROCESS OF LAW SINCE THE LAST 4 ½ YEARS.
 ACCUSED WAS INVOLVED IN A GRUESOME MURDER OF P.S KANJHAWALA, IN WHICH THEY BEHEADED THE DEAD BODY AND THROW THE BODY PARTS SEPARATELY.
 ACCUSED GOT THE INTERIM BAIL IN THE YEAR 2020, FOR THE TREATMENT OF HER FATHER SUFFERING FROM CANCER AND AFTER THAT HE JUMPED THE INTERIM BAIL.
 PRESENTLY ACCUSED WAS DRIVING A TRUCK AND HE IS TRACKED DOWN AFTER A CHASE OF ABOUT 600 KMS.
INTRODUCTION:-
On 19.04.2025, a team of Insp Manoj Dahiya, AHTU, Crime Branch, Delhi, based on the information collected by HC Ajit No. 1464/Crime, has arrested one accused namely Sonu @ Chiku @ Manoj s/o Late Suresh r/o Gopal Nagar, Najafgarh, Delhi from Birla Opus Paint refinery, Panipat (Haryana). The accused Sonu @ Chiku @ Monu, was wanted in Case FIR No. 56/2016, u/s 302/365/201/120B/34 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act PS Kanjhawala.
In the year 2020, the accused was granted interim bail for a period of 30 days on medical ground for the treatment of his father. He jumped the interim bail and did not surrender before the jail authorities. Since then, He was evading arrest in this case and also declared proclaimed offender by the Hon’ble Court of Sh. Babru Bhan, ASJ-03, (N-W) Rohini, Delhi vide order dated 04.07.2023.
INCIDENT: -
On 04.02.2016, a headless and nude dead body of a youth was found in the area of PS Kanjhawla, Delhi and a case vide FIR No.56/16 u/s 302/201 IPC was registered in this regard. The deceased Anil @ Monu was known to him previously. About 3 months back of the incident, accused Sonu @ Manoj @ Chiku had a dispute with deceased over a minor issue, in which Manoj @ Chiku was beaten by deceased Anil @ Monu, since then, Sonu @ Manoj @ Chiku was trying to take revenge.
Accused Sonu@ Manoj @ Chiku roped in Sombir and Pankaj and him as they were also having disputes with Anil @ Monu. They all planned to eliminate Anil @ Monu. On the fateful date, deceased was called by Sombir. They held captive Anil in their Scorpio SUV and he shot him in the chest and to hide the identity of the deceased, they chopped off the head, removed the clothes from the dead body and threw the head in a nearby drain.
INFORMATION & TEAM OPERATION:-
Keeping in view the gruesome murder and sensitivity of the case, a dedicated team led by Insp Manoj Dahiya, comprising of SI Narender kumar, HC Ajit No.1464/Crime, HC Devender no. 779/Crime, & HC Jai Kishan no. 593/Crime under the close supervision of Sh. Arun Kumar Chauhan, ACP/AHTU, Crime Branch, Delhi and overall guidance of senior officers was constituted to nab the gangsters who had jumped interim bail granted by the Hon’ble court in this gruesome murder case. Secret informers were deputed to track these gangsters. On analysing voluminous data, the accused Sonu @ Chiku @ Manoj was identified. The accused was changing his address and location frequently. He was evading his arrest deliberately. Thus, technical surveillance was mounted and efforts were made to trace the accused and with the help of specialized technical investigation, the accused was traced from Paint Refinery, Panipat (Haryana). The accused is presently driving a truck and to track him down the team chased him for about 600 Kms, in the area of Punjab, Himachal and Haryana.
PROFILE & INTERROGATION: -
The accused has studied upto class 8th. The accused used to drive RTV in outer Delhi and during this period, he came in contact with Somvir. Later, he started supplying illicit liquor from Haryana to Delhi. He had dispute with the deceased and he was beaten by the deceased. On that he made plan to eliminate the deceased along with the co-accused persons.
After, jumping the interim bail, he was driving a truck. He was changing his location frequently, thus technical surveillance was mounted and his activities were tracked.
The accused person has been arrested under relevant section of law and produced before the Hon’ble court. Information regarding his arrest has been given to the concerned police station.
