Epson 7880 Paper Sensor Calibration

Epson 7880 printer: Paper Sensor – Vertical Position Calibration

Power Off
Power off the Epson 7880 printer from control panel.

Paper Sensor
Manually move the “Shuttle” screen frame holder, position it to cover the “Paper Sensor”.

Service Mode
On the control panel, hold down 3 buttons together…
Center button [Enter]
Right button [Menu]
Down button [Paper Down Arrow]

Press [Power On] button while holding down above 3 buttons.
Keep holding down those 3 buttons until the printer is fully booted up in Service Mode with display of [Self Testing] task.

Paper Sensor Calibration
Wait for 2 LED indicating lights stop blinking on the left hand side of the control panel.

Press [Paper Down Arrow] button once to [Adjustment] task, press [Menu] button to select it.

Press [Paper Down Arrow] button multiple times until to [Rear AD], press [Menu] to select it.

Press the center button [Enter] to execute the “Paper Sensor” calibration.
It may takes anywhere from a few seconds up to few minutes to complete the Paper Sensor calibration with 3 sets of numeric numbers confirmation.

Power off the printer from control panel.
