Panel: From Principles to Practice—Governing Advanced AI in Action
Concordia AI CEO Brian Tse highlighted four urgent challenges: 1. Misuse, where AI could lower barriers for cyberattacks or designing dangerous pathogens; 2. Accidents and malfunctions, such as unsafe medical use; 3. Loss of control, where advanced systems may act unpredictably; and 4. Systemic risks, like disruptions to jobs and economies.

He stressed adopting safety practices from other high-risk industries—combining regulation, institutional measures, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Looking forward, he points to model registration, safety audits, and transparency tools like watermarks and agent IDs as crucial steps toward making AI safer for everyone.
